Low Cal Orangy Treat

Orange Sandesh

Sandesh tastes good but orange sandesh tastes yummmmm! Believe me! Easy and simple to make, this recipe is sure to hit the list of your favourite sweets once you taste it.



Preparation Time: 10 mins.
Cooking Time: 5 to 7 mins.
Makes 12 sandesh. 


For the orange filling
12 segments of orange , peeled
1 tsp sugar

For the sandesh
3/4 cup crumbled low fat paneer (cottage cheese)
3 tbsp crumbled low fat mava (khoya)
2 tbsp powdered sugar

Other ingredients
1/4 tsp ghee

For the orange filling

  1. Heat the sugar in non-stick pan till it melts, add the orange segments and gently toss them in it, making sure that the segments do not break. Keep aside.

For the sandesh

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, add 2 tbsp of water and knead it till the mixture becomes smooth. Add a tbsp of water if required.
  2. Divide this into 24 equal portions and keep aside.

How to proceed

  1. Take 1 portion of the sandesh, place 1 orange segment on it and cover with another portion of sandesh.
  2. Seal the edges of the 2 sandesh properly so that the orange is sandwiched between them.
  3. Repeat this process with the remaining 22 pieces to make 11 more orange sandesh.
  4. Refrigerate for atleast one hour and serve chilled.
